Melania Alvarez Awarded the IEEE EAB Meritorious Achievement Award in Pre-University Education
The IEEE Educational Activities Board (EAB) has awarded Dr. Melania Alvarez the 2025 Meritorious Achievement Award in Pre-University Education for her "visionary leadership and inclusive outreach in STEM education, empowering thousands of students and teachers within indigenous communities through culturally responsive programs, mentorship, and hands-on learning."
The Meritorious Achievement Award in Pre-University Education recognizes individuals for work in a pre-university school, or those who influence school-based activities for pre-university students. These individuals have inspired an appreciation and understanding of Mathematics, Science and Technology and the engineering process in pre-university students, and have encouraged students to pursue technical careers.
