Eric Cytrynbaum obtained a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Utah (2001) and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Davis (2002-2004), after spending a term at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences at the University of Cambridge. He has been at UBC since 2004 and is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics.

His research interests include mathematical and computational modelling of cell and developmental biology and physiology.
